Juventus have chosen ex- Italy head coach Spalletti to lead the team for the rest of the term.
The 66-year-old steps in for Igor Tudor, who was dismissed post the Lazio setback on Sunday.
Tudor arrived at the club in March as Thiago Motta's replacement but exited following a seven-month stint after an eight-game winless streak.
Under Spalletti, Napoli clinched the Serie A championship in 2022-23 then moving on to lead the Italian national team, which missed out on the 2022 World Cup under former boss Roberto Mancini.
He secured their spot in Euro 2024 exiting in the last 16 stage against Switzerland.
However, Spalletti was sacked by Italy in June after a World Cup qualifying defeat by Norway, with the Azzurri at risk of missing out on a third consecutive World Cup.
Spalletti's managerial career includes Inter Milan, Roma, and Udinese in Serie A and lifted the Russian league trophy twice while at Zenit St Petersburg.
Juventus were temporarily led by Massimo Brambilla for their 3-1 win against Udinese on Wednesday moving them to seventh position in the league - six points behind leaders Napoli after nine games.
Their Champions League campaign sees them in 25th place in the group stage, after recording one defeat and two ties in the initial three fixtures.
